My name is Imogen Ford, I am a 21 year old Graphic Designer and Illustrator who has recently graduated from University Centre Colchester. Naturally I have a passion for design, with artistic skills ranging from photography to printmaking. My design knowledge is strong on both digital and analogue platforms. Currently, I am looking to build upon the skills I have gained at university and get some design industry experience. Although I engage in a range of Graphic Design processes, illustration is the practice I use the most and actively work to refine and improve my skills.
Whilst studying at University, I have worked for a café called Number Ten Museum Street situated opposite Colchester Castle. Number Ten have provided me with the opportunity to expand upon my illustration and calligraphy skills by allowing me to produce artwork and signage to advertise their products. This experience has boosted my confidence overall and inspired me to continue to develop my calligraphy skills.
Since I was very young I have had a keen interest in creative subjects ranging from drawing and photography to poetry and writing. These passions have been carried into my adulthood and I now find myself being artwork and literature inspired by history and nature. Overall, I have a strong creative approach to a range of processes and media.

In my spare time, I have established an Instagram account which showcases, explores and appreciates the local biodiversity and species in Sudbury. This was set up to support my Final Major Project research, but through thorough enjoyment and success, I decided to carry this. Exploring and documenting local wildlife is something I wish to experiment with intensively in the future. Much of my inspiration comes from my local environment.
